Mounted to windshield with the included suction cup bracket.   Placed right behind the rearview mirror, sticking out just far enough for the rear antenna to have a clear view behind.  The cable goes straight across the V1 to the mirror, where it follows the mirrors wiring straight up the headliner (secured by two black zip-ties).  The cable then goes across the windshield in the headliner, down the front side of the A-pillar (carefully tucked into the the A-pillar cover), then down into the fuse panel.  See this web site for excellent hardwiring information.

The remote display.  The brushed aluminum trim panel above the radio can be easily modified pivot upwards for access.  See this excellent thread on VW Vortex for instructions and pictures to learn how to do this.  Note that I skipped the installation of the touch latch, in order to have enough room for the remote display to attach with the included Dual Lock fasteners.  When not in use, I can detach and unplug the display, tuck the cable into the cavity, and flip the trim panel back down into position.  The remote display can then be stored out of sight.

Couple of quick glamor shots, right after washing.  Lookin' good!
